Named after the novel by Virginia Woolf.  Although her novel is set in Scotland, the lighthouse is based on Godrevy lighthouse. Virginia had many connections with St.Ives and when she holidayed there with her family in the Summer months - it was the view of Godrevy lighthouse that was her inspiration.
